It appears that U2 is still relevant in 2011, at least according to recent tour numbers published by the Hollywood Reporter. The long-running Irish rock outfit reportedly earned sum of $293 million from their 2011 360° Tour, throughout which they played to a total of nearly three million people.
The 360° Tour saw dates in North and South America, along with Africa, in 2011 alone, an aspect that garnered the tour higher revenues and attendance than any other tour ever since its 2008 start date.
The next highest earning tour behind U2 is Bon Jovi with his 2011 tour, earning $192 million and playing to nearly two million people. Following Bon Jovi is British pop group Take That, with their 2011 reunion tour earning some $185 million.
