Former LCD Soundsystem frontman and DFA super-producer James Murphy has a featured supporting role in an upcoming film called The Comedy, which was just recently accepted into the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The film will also feature appearances by Tim Heidecker of “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!”, as well as Okkervil River’s Will Sheff, Heidecker’s “Tim and Eric” partner Eric Wareheim, Richard Swift, and Gregg Turkington (aka Neil Hamburger)
The film features Murphy as part of a group of aging Brooklyn hipsters whom Heidecker hangs around with, “engaging in acts of recreational cruelty and pacified boredom.”
The Comedy was written and directed by Rick Alverson, and co-produced by the record label Jagjaguara along with Greyshack Films and Glass Eye Pix.
