The North African Tuareg-Berber group Tinariwen made November 29 appearance on The Colbert Report, performing two tracks, “Imidiwan Ma Tenam,” and “Tenere Taqqim Tossam” off of their latest album, Tassili. They were joined by two of the album’s featured artists, TV On The Radio’s Kyp Malone and Tunde Adebimpe for a performance of the “Tenere Taqqim Tossam.” Watch videos of the performances after the jump.

The group’s appearance came two days before the conclusion of a long lineup of North American tour dates in support of their August 30 album release, Tassili. Tinariwen’s last performance in the series took place last night in Seattle, Washington.
TV On The Radio band members Kyp Malone and Tunde Adibempe came together with Tinariwen for “Imidiawn Ma Tenam.” Kyp Malone is also featured on a two other tracks from the album, “Asuf D Alwa,” and “Iswegh Attay.”
