Sonic Youth’s Sao Paulo Performance May Be Group’s Last

Sonic Youth’s November 14 performance in Sao Paulo, Brazil, may mark the end of 30 year history for the well-known noise rockers. Though the group has not officially confirmed that the Sao Paulo performance would be their last, statements from the group’s label, Matador Records, hints that this may be the case. When the label announced in October that group member Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore were separating after nearly thirty years of marriage, they also stated that though the band would play South America, “plans beyond that tour are uncertain.”

Moore has already announced plans to hit the road in January in support in his latest LP, Demolished Thoughts. Group co-founder Lee Renaldo is set to release a new solo album, Between The Times & The Tides’ in March.

1. “Brave Men Run”
