Come February 7, Hans-Peter Lindstrøm will release his third studio album, Six Cups of Rebel. Containing seven songs, this forthcoming album will be released on Smalltown Supersound.
Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, the internationally acclaimed Norwegian producer who goes by the simplified moniker Lindstrøm, has been involved in a variety of projects and collaborations. Though he has undoubtedly been keeping himself busy, Six Cups of Rebel will be his first solo endeavor since 2008’s Where You Go I Go Too. Based off the first track that has surfaced, it appears that Lindstrøm’s cosmic style of dance music has only become more audacious.
Coming from eclectic influences that range from Bach to European DJs from the 1980s like Daniele Baldelli and Bepe Loda, Lindstrøm’s music has always had a diverse and contemporary sound. One major change he has made in Six Cups of Rebel is that this will be the first time he is integrating his own voice into his work. After being uncertain about the issue for a while, he came to the decision that, “everything was allowed, including pitching, stretching and all kinds of voice-processing and manipulation”. Below, you can hear “De Javu”, the first track that he has chosen to release off his forthcoming album.
