London post-punk band The Horrors recently covered David Bowie’s aggressive anthem “Suffragette City” for Channel 4’s make-it-or-break-it show On Track…With SEAT. The song was recorded in one take at London’s Metropolis Studio. Check out “Suffragette City” after the jump:
After the success of 2011’s Skying and a successful tour in support, the band decided to dabble in the world of cover songs during the unique On Track…with SEAT session. The session allows artists to record a track in one take and have it pressed straight to vinyl.
The five-piece stays true to Bowie’s original abrasive, raw sound in “Suffragette City”, though lead singer Faris Badwan takes slight liberties with his tone and deliverance.
“Suffragette City” is also available for download via the On Track Facebook page.
