Nu-metal outfit Korn will release their tenth studio album, The Path of Totality, on December 6 via Roadrunner Records. With production and collaboration help from Skrillex, Feed Me, Excision, Downlink, Kill the Noise, Datsik, Noisia and 12th Planet, this time around it’s a metal-cum-dubstep affair.
Frontman Jonathan Davis coined the album’s monolithic title, saying that it refers to the act of seeing the sun during a full solar eclipse:
“In order to see the sun in a full solar eclipse, you must be in the exact right place in the exact right time. That’s how this album came together. I think all the producers feel the same way. I’m not sure it could ever happen again.”
Korn unveiled the first single, “Get Up!,” this past summer and followed it shortly thereafter with a Robot Chicken Studios-produced video for “Narcissistic Cannibal.”
