This past summer, the reunited indie-electronica duo Orbital released “Don’t Stop Me/The Gun is Good,” their first new tracks since 2004. This week, the duo announced that they plan to drop a full-length sometime in 2012. It will serve as their first full-length since 2004’s Blue Album.
Currently untitled, the record, in the words of Orbital member Paul Hartnoll, is a “kaleidoscope of everything we like about electronic music.”
“But the biggest influence on this album has been two years of playing live, listening to old Orbital music. We wanted to make music that we would like to play live. It had to flow and ebb like a live set,” he added.

In addition to releasing the album in 2012, Orbital will also tour behind the effort in the UK starting in April. The confirmed dates are below:
