Loretta Lynn Pneumonia Hospitalization Causes Two Date Cancelations

American country icon Loretta Lynn was hospitalized over the weekend due to the beginning stages of bacterial pneumonia, but she has since been discharged and told to take it easy for couple of weeks.  Lynn’s stay in the hospital caused her to have to cancel two dates on her ongoing tour.

An official statement on the singer’s website says that Lynn was admitted to a Bowling Green, KY-area hospital after complaining of breathing troubles in the early morning hours this past Saturday.  Consequently, Lynn was forced to cancel her scheduled performances in Ashland, KY and Durham, NC over the weekend.

Doctors released Lynn from the hospital earlier today. She will be resting in her Hurricane Mills, TN home until November.

“It was one scary night… But I am feeling better and just gonna take it easy for a couple of weeks,” she was quoted as saying in the statement.

The canceled dates are reportedly set for rescheduling, though no official dates have yet been announced.  Another statement on Lynn’s site said that she plans to resume touring with her next scheduled date of November 3 in Knoxville, TN.

These cancelations are the second round on this current tour, as Lynn, 76, had undergone knee replacement surgery back in September that forced several other postponements.
