San Diego noise-punk/surf-rock group Waaves have released a music video for “Bug”, another single from their newest EP, Life Sux (Ghost Ramp). Check out the video after the jump:
The video, directed by Alan Tanner, who has worked with artists such as Jenny Lewis, Conner Oberst and Sea Wolf, features all of the debauchery and substance abuse you should expect from Waaves, as band members guzzle beer and pop pills while playing board games, eventually conjuring an automatic weapon-wielding mermaid to their defense during a bloody police raid, all taking place in a room filled with Dave Grohl pictures in under 3 minutes.
The band is open about their recreational drug use, with lead singer Nathan Williams taking to Twitter during the MTV VMA’s to chronicle his adventure, including an announcement that bassist Pope was removed from the event for possessing pot. Waaves, consisting of Nathan Williams, drummer Billie Hayes and Stephen Pope, recently finished a North American fall tour in support of Life Sux with Canada hard-core band Fucked Up.
