Fucked up are setting a new record for themselves and preparing to give a monstrous live show to their fans. Matador Records has just announced that band will be playing their BNM’s album David Comes to Life in its entirety at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City. The date is set for November 14, where the band will play not just previously performed songs, but many off of their 18 song album that have never seen the outside the recording studio.
Fucked Up now has six albums under their belt along with a slew of EP’s and singles. Their most commercially successful record to date is their most recent; David Comes to Life, released June 3, with the single “Queen of Hearts”. The Toronto based band is most known for their punk sound, but with DCTL they took a shocking turn and created something that can only be described as a punk rock opera. With heavy guitar and strong female vocals by Jennifer Castle and Cults’ Madeline Follin, the record as a whole is a love story with perhaps a little activism thrown into the mix.
