Thom Yorke spun tables at a party held in celebration of the release of Radiohead’s TKOL RMX 1234567, held at London’s Boiler Room venue this past Tuesday. As previously reported, Yorke was joined by Jamie XX, Lone, Illum, Sphere and Caribou, all of whom contributed to the remix album. Check out Thom’s set after the jump:
Yorke mixes the beat up often, going from thoughtful, ambient beats to pulsing psy-trance and to mellow trip-hop grooves, eventually locking in and getting himself as well as the audience moving.
Radiohead is known for promoting and working with artists in the underground electronic scene, so choosing a location such as the Boiler Room makes sense considering the London small club/performance space hosts weekly DJ sets from said musicians in that genre, as well as occasionally hosting live acts. Shows are then available to stream live and as downloadable podcasts.
