After days of speculation over major Los Angeles-based concert Monster Massive, the show has been canceled. Flav.or.us, the official ticketing site for the event, has discontinued ticket sales. Their official website now lists the concert as “canceled.” Those who purchased tickets online and/or via credit card will be automatically refunded within 3-5 business days. Those who paid cash can submit request for a refund here.
UPDATE: the Monster Massive official site has now reported the concert as officially canceled.
DJ Armin Van Buuren posted today on his official site and on the Armin Only site that they will not be attending the Monster Massive show. The site says that the show will not be happening due to “circumstances beyond our control.” The DJ goes on to say “I’ve never cancelled an Armin Only show before, so I’m very upset to have to now.”
After days of uncertainty, the announcement does not come as a surprise. There is still no word from the organizers Go Ventures, aside from a two-day-old Facebook status that does not reflect the show’s cancellation.
Erick Morillo has also announced a cancellation on his official site, citing “considerable uncertainty.” He goes on to say, “These decisions are not made lightly and apologies to all those that had made plans. I hope to see you all very soon.”
The drama and uncertainty surrounding the event has been enough to make the cancellation no surprise, from Facebook announcement wars between the venue, Oak Canyon Ranch, and an exposé by a former employee.
Unfortunately, music fans and performers alike have been caught in the political and organizational crossfire. As Morillo says, “For those of you that had bought tickets expecting to see me at Monster Massive, what can I say, I think this is a blow for us all!”
