With his male-to-female gender transition completed this past July, Life of Agony vocalist Keith Mina Caputo is back in the music game, most recently performing with side project The Sad-Eyed Ladies in Apeldoorn, Netherlands in early September. Check out a slew of videos of the performance after the jump.
Caputo addressed his decision to undergo a sex change in a recent interview with Kerrang! magazine, saying that society largely does not approve of transgendered people.
“The whole system we live in is discriminative and fucked up. Everything’s fucked up. There are no toilets for transgendered people, for example, which is why there are so many beatings and brutalities. If the authorities and the people who make laws would be sensitive towards the idea that humans come in all shapes, in different forms and desires, then there would be a lot more love in the world,” he said.
The singer’s decision to undergo a sex change was a long time coming, with Caputo saying that he did not identify with his gender since early childhood.
“Because of my upbringing and Life of Agony coming into my life, it was also a very male-dominated source of energy. I always felt uncomfortable because I was surrounded by these macho, alpha-male types,” he added.
