Last week marked the release of St. Vincent’s already well-received third studio album, Strange Mercy, and it looks like Annie Clark is already moving forward in the form of an orchestral arrangement with chamber ensemble yMusic.
Clark contributed to the composition of “Proven Badlands,” a track that comes from yMusic’s upcoming New Amsterdam Records release, Beautiful Mechanical, out September 27.
The group, in addition to working with Clark, enlisted the help of Judd Greenstein, Son Lux and Kirkland Snider for Mechanical, collaborating previously with the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and others.
You can check out a stream of “Proven Badlands” here. The tracklisting for Beautiful Mechanical is as follows:
Beautiful Mechanical (composed by Son Lux)
