After a postponement earlier this year, Italian gothic metal outfit Lacuna Coil has attached a release date of January 24, 2012 to their upcoming Century Media Records release, Dark Adrenaline.
Reportedly heavier and more ambiguous than previous releases, Dark Adrenaline will feature 12 new tracks from the band, the first of which being “Trip the Darkness,” which will see a release on October 17. A series of headlining tour dates, dubbed the Darkness Rising tour, will begin shortly after that.
“As some of you know, the release for ‘Dark Adrenaline’ was postponed a bit…I feel this is the best work we have ever done, and it absolutely captures the essence of who we are. The atmosphere of the record will make a lot of old-school fans very happy, and the newer fans will enjoy the vibrant energy and the dark blood running through the songs,” said vocalist Cristina Scabbia of the album.
Much of the different sound of the album comes at the direction of producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam), who, said co-vocalist Andrea Ferro in a recent interview, amped up the “most important and interesting details of the music and the lyrics” and pushed the band to work on “keeping things fresh.”
The tracklisting for Dark Adrenaline is as follows:
Trip The Darkness
Against You
Kill the Light
Give Me Something More
Upsidedown
End of Time
I Don’t Believe in Tomorrow
Intoxicated
The Army Inside
Losing My Religion
Fire
My Spirit
