Though she missed appearing on the Boardwalk Empire soundtrack, indie performer and singer St. Vincent has been chosen along with Justin Townes Earle to record a ’20s era track for the show’s second season. The honor of the second season opener has fallen to Kathy Brier’s rendition of Irving Berlin’s, “After You Get What You Want (You Don’t Want It).
Granted, the soundtrack for Boardwalk Empire will feature songs from both of the show’s seasons, but St. Vincent had other promotional business to attend to before her sessions could be scheduled and recorded this week. Despite missing out on the soundtrack, she will still have a featured track sometime during the second season.
Boardwalk Empire’s second season is set to being Sept. 25.
