London-based The Duke Spirit will return with the release of their third album Bruiser due in November.
The band has put in eight months working with producer Andrew Scheps in Los Angeles with some additional mixing work by Alan Moulder in London to get their songs “lean, mean and hungry sounding,” according to singer Liela Moss.
The idea of Bruiser happened after The Duke Spirit finished their tour for Neptune, their second album, and had some studio time in London.
The songwriting sessions The Duke Spirit’s latest album were inspiring by an eclectic group of artists, including David Bowie, Roxy Music and Depeche Mode. The band tried to go for a more minimalist approach on Bruiser and slim down their tracks.
