Lil Wayne has earned his third number one album with Tha Carter IV, which sold nearly a million copies in its first week. The LP has also given hip-hop its biggest sales week since its predecessor, Tha Carter III.

Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne sold fewer than half the copies in its first week, and was crushed by the number of digital copies of Tha Carter IV that were purchased on iTunes.
