Alison Mosshart Covers Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World” for Sons of Anarchy

FX motorcycle club drama Sons of Anarchy debuted its fourth season earlier this week, ending the episode with a violent montage set to the Dead Weather’s Alison Mosshart performing cover of Louis Armstrong’s 1968 hit, “What a Wonderful World.” Check out the track after the jump.

The track is a remarkable departure from Mosshart’s usual hard and heavy antics, this time remaining staid and calm to reveal the singer’s more emotional, yet slightly scruffy, side.  Providing backing acoustic guitar is SOA’s music supervisor, Bob Thiele, who’s father co-wrote “What a Wonderful World.”

“There was a part of me that was a little nervous about besmirching Bob Thiele Sr.’s memory with having a montage kill sequence while his song played,” wrote creator Kurt Sutter on the show’s website. “But Bob Thiele Jr. was thrilled and took the challenge completely made it work.”
