Battles Releases Video for “My Machines”

New York City-based experimental rock group Battles has released the video for “My Machines,” featuring synth-pop artist Gary Numan. The single is now available via Warp Records. The track is off of the album Gloss Drop.

The single is a product of a collaboration with The Creators Project’s The Studio, which produces and distributes works from various artists from many different disciplines.

Post-production efforts on this album were slowed by the Sony DADC warehouse fire, and printing was extremely limited.

The track was taken from the group’s well-received sophomore record, Gloss Drop, which Spin called “a triumphant moment, an experimental outburst both ingenious and accessible.”  Numan’s work with Battles has been critically acclaimed, with glowing reviews in The New York Times, USA Today, and even NPR.

The album also features collaborations with Chilean tech producer Matias Aguayo, indie rocker Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead, and Yamantaka Eye, front man of the Japanese group, the Boredoms.

The group’s work, and fall tour, is being touted as a reflection of the multicultural collaborative efforts that The Creators Project promotes and fosters.
