Modeselektor Releases Video From Forthcoming Album, Monkeytown

The Berlin-based group Modeselektor has shared track off of its forthcoming album, Monkeytown. The track, “Pretentious Friends” features the contributions of Los Angeles-based rapper Busdriver. Monkeytown is due out September 27 on Monkeytown Records.

Monkeytown will also feature Thom Yorke, Anti Pop Consortium, Miss Platnum, Sascha Ring (aka Apparat), Pillow Talk, Gordon Boerger, Siriusmo, and Otto von Schirach.

After the release of the album, Modeselektor will present an audio-visual live show in Europe that will extend through January of this year. Full European tour dates are available here.

The group is made up of the Berlin due Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, who, with Monkeytown, have worked to meld the styles of intelligent dance music, electro, and hip hop to create a complex and visceral style that is being called the group’s return to club music.

Modeselektor is fresh off of their summer two of the United States, and have plans to return stateside after their European tour in early 2012.
