Following the release of a video for “Irresistible Force” from their upcoming album, The Great Escape Artist, last week, Jane’s Addiction announced this week that they will perform a series of two-night stands beginning late this month.
The idea for the tour is essentially that of a big band playing a small room, with the band making their first stop at Chicago, IL’s Metro on September 24-25—the same space where they launched the seminal Nothing’s Shocking back in 1988.
From there, Perry Farrell and crew will move on to dates in Los Angeles and New York on October 3-4 and October 17-18, respectively. This means that the current batch of confirmed dates will terminate on the day that Capitol will drop The Great Escape Artist. Venues and tickets for the LA and New York shows have yet to be announced.
The band is partnering with credit-card hawkers Citi for the tour, allowing cardholders to purchase tickets for the shows in advance of non-cardholders. Tickets for the Chicago show went on pre-sale for cardholders this past Tuesday, but general ticket sales begin this Saturday, September 10.
Cardholders will also be privy to VIP packages, exclusive merch and—according to a recent press release—“unique opportunities to interact with the band.”
