A week after the Los Angeles Board of Public Works put the vice on the Sunset Junction Street Fair for unpaid city fees, ticket holders and vendors still have not received refunds for the canceled event. Five days after issuing a pledge to refund all expenses to those parties, ticket vendors eager to refund their customers have had difficulty contacting the organizers.
Though the twitter announcement did mention handling the fallout of the canceled event will take time, ticket vendors such as Flavorus.com haven’t heard from the Sunset Junction Neighborhood Alliance, nor have they succeeded in contacting the event organizers at all, leaving the prospect of refunding in limbo.
In a letter addressed to one of their customers, Flavorus explained their frustration frankly in regards to communicating with organizers for the street fair:
As courtesy to you, we have been attempting to contact the event organizers for the last several days regarding customer refunds. Unfortunately, the event organizers have not responded to us and it seems, at this time, they are reluctant to issue any refunds for any tickets sold.
Although Sunset Junction’s Wednesday twitter also mentioned the website had been taken offline, the site is once again up and running. Though it has not been updated with any official announcement since Tuesday, the entire site is accessible including the contact section, which some have taken to in an effort to get a hold of the event organizers for answers and refunds.
Did you buy tickets to the Sunset Junction this year? To get your refund call there office at 213-413-5515 They sometimes plug the phone into the FAX! So just keep calling! Don’t let them rip off your money! Please repost this to everyone you know so they have the number if they bought tickets or paid to be A Vendor this year! said the Circle Jerks via Facebook.
Despite their cavalier effort, it is not confirmed as to whether or not SJNA is actually plugging their phone lines into fax machines, furthermore it appears based upon the Sunset Junction website that the Circle Jerks have gotten their numbers mixed up.
Along with their mailing address, email address, and broswer-based messaging system; the phone number and fax number for the organizers have been posted on the site. As can be seen on that contact page, the Circle Jerks posted the fax number (ending in 5515) listed rather than the phone line (ending in 7770).
