After a five year recording hiatus, Evanescence is preparing to release their third major and self-titled album. Days before a 12 date tour in support of the album, Evanescence, will release Oct. 8.
Ironically enough, the 12 date tour will correspond with the 12-track album kicking off two days after the album’s release at Oakland’s Fox Theatre with the short tour culminating in New York City at Terminal 5 Nov.1.
Their first record release since 2006’s, The Open Door, the Grammy-winning Evanescence has spent quite some time changing their line up and musical style for the self-title release.
This album is about us and also our fans–we’re combining the best of Ev with some new attitude and we’re just dying to share it, said singer and pianist Amy Lee in a press release.
Evanescence recorded the album in Nashville, Tenn. just under 325 miles from their hometown of Little Rock, Ark. with producer Nick Raskulinecz.
