Kanye West drew self-comparisons to late dictator Adolf Hitler during one of his infamous rants at a Big Chill Festival show last Saturday.
“I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street and people look at me like I’m fucking insane, like I’m Hitler. One Day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did.”
West closed his show with audio clips from recently passed Amy Winehouse’s songs “Tears Dry on Their Own” and “Back to Black,” before remarking, “For all media, can you lighten up on all your artists that are still here,” as if to suggest he and Winehouse have suffered similar levels of mistreatment by the press.
This is not the first controversial thing West has said about his reputation. He previously accused television anchor Matt Lauer of forcing answers out of him during an interview and singer Taylor Swift of “riding the waves” in regards to the press that was generated as a result of his now-infamous stage crashing incident.
