The autopsy of the recently deceased singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, 27, has not established a cause of death. Conducted earlier today in London, the inconclusive autopsy report has left authorities waiting on the results of her toxicology tests.
Performed at the St. Pancras Mortuary in London, authorities opened an inquest into the singer’s death allowing for the autopsy to proceed. Since no cause of death has been concluded pending the results of toxicology reports which will take two to four weeks, the inquest has been adjourned until Oct. 26.
Found dead at her Camden Square home Saturday, no foul play has been speculated by authorities investigating the tragic death of Winehouse. Although reports since her death have alluded to an episodic relapse with drugs and alcohol, no statements by emergency responders or responding authorities present at her flat on Saturday have substantiated any of these claims.
Now that the inquest into the singer’s death has been adjourned, her family can proceed with funeral arrangements.
According to the BBC, a spokesperson on behalf of the Winehouse family has stated her funeral will be held Tuesday in a private ceremony of family and friends. The spokesperson has offered no further details about the location or time of day.
Winehouse’s father Mitch, mother Janis, and brother Alex visited her Camden residence early Monday morning. Still crowded by mournful fans paying tribute to the deceased singer, her father stated the visit left him speechless.
