After a successful 2008 after the release of her self-titled debut and two years of touring, Santigold will return with her second album this fall.
Her new effort will feature Karen O and Nick Zinner from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Dave Sitek from TV on the Radio, this album promises to be impressive.
As Santigold said, “My lyrics end up being very much about what I’m personally going through, and I felt really alone on this record,” she says. “Last time I had writing partners. But this time it was just me. And that was really hard.”
Santigold signed a management deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation in early 2011 and is exited about the new business relationship.
After listening to her tracks, Santigold says Jay Z called her music “epic” and “important”, so listeners can expect the upcoming release to be solid.
Fans can also expect a tour from Santigold after the release of the album.
