Members of Mastodon, Jane’s Addiction, Mars Volta, and Dillinger Escape Plan Come Together to Form New Band

An epic band is formed when members of Mastodon, Jane’s Addiction, Mars Volta, and Dillinger Escape Plan join forces.

Brent Hinds of Mastodon, ex-Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery, former Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen and Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman are working together to create an album.

As Hinds said:
“We tried to get together and do an album, but there’s been no time. We want to record crazy stuff and Ben is working on that, but it’s been hard to get together.”

Although the band has no names, Hinds is hoping the group will be called Giraffe Tongue because “they look sick.”

Hinds is keeping busy as Mastodon is setting up to release new album Hunter later this year. Hinds has also released two albums from two different efforts, Fiend Without a Face and West End Motel.
