An administration error on May 17th caused the new self-titled album from Bon Iver to be put for sale on iTunes. While most users were expecting to see the the new single “Calgary”, the full album was available for anyone to purchase. In no time, fans purchased the album and quickly uploaded it on file-sharing websites. The album is still scheduled for a legitimate release on June 21st. Fans are very eager to hear the follow-up to their debut For Emma, Forever Ago. Both Apple and Bon Iver’s label Jagjaguwar have declined to comment.
A similar incident occurred for the Raconteur’s in 2008 (Consolers of the Only) and Kelly Clarkson in 2009 (All I Ever Wanted).
