Former rocker, Eddie Vedder is set to release his first album in four years, Ukulele Songs. The 16-track LP is his second solo album and is the follow-up to 2009’s Backspacer. Ukulele Songs is appropriately titled, being the fact that Vedder only used a variety of Ukulele’s on the entire album. The album is currently streamed on NPR for a first listen, and will be available for purchase on May 31.
Vedder’s song selections are culled from more than a decade’s worth of writing he’s done. Stand-out tracks include, “Sleeping By Myself”, “Tonight You Belong To Me” and the soulful, “More Than You Know”. In addition to the new LP, Vedder will also be releasing, Water on the Road, a live DVD of shows that the “Pearl Jam” singer has recorded over the past few years. The DVD is set to be released the same day as Ukulele Songs, May 31.
