Kanye West surprised fans by bringing out Jay-Z for a live rendition of “H.A.M.” on Tuesday night when he played a show in the Museum of Modern Art’s sculpture garden for a crowd of just 1,000.
The duo also performed “Empire State of Mind” together. Watch the Throne, their upcoming collaboration, is due out this summer.
The hour-long show, billed as Party in the Garden, followed a fundraiser dinner for major benefactors.
At the end of the show, West said:
“Thank you for loving me when they told you not to love me. I’m sorry about anybody out there that had to fight for me. Do you know what it feels like to be hated, do you know what it feels like to be degraded?”
West also performed hits such as “Gold Digger” and “Jesus Walks.”
