Pink Floyd mean a thing or two to some people, so those people will be pretty excited to hear the defunct group has announced plans to re-issue all 14 of its studio albums along with unreleased tracks, live songs, concert videos and more.
On Sept. 26, the group will release remastered versions all 14 of its studio albums separately in physical and digital formats and in a box set with a photo book. Also, the band has sketched out a special re-issue of Dark Side of the Moon for the same date, which will be issued in a 6-disc “Immersion” set, a 2-disc “Experience” set, a collectors’ vinyl LP and digital formats.
On Nov. 7, the group has two special releases planned. One, the band will release A Foot in the Door – The Best of Pink Floyd, a single-disc album of the groups most well known tracks. Bigger news is the planned re-issue of 1975 classic Wish You Were Here in a 5-disc “Immersion” set, a 2-disc “Experience” set, collectors’ vinyl LP and digital editions. Both the “Immersion” and “Experience” sets will include bonus material from the group’s concerts at Wembley Stadium in 1974, including a 20-minute live version of “Shine On You Crazy Diamond.” Also included: a recording of “Wish You Were Here” featuring jazz violinist Stephanie Grappelli.
Finally, on Feb 27, 2012, the group will re-issue The Wall in a 7-disc “Immersion” edition, a 3-disc “Experience” edition, vinyl LP version and digital download edition.
