The New Pornographers Live at the Outdoor Theatre Coachella

The good news: Neko Case was here to perform with The New Pornographers. The bad news: it was just okay. To qualify, there’s no denying the band’s quality. They’re accomplished and enjoyable. However, they’re capable of better than this. What on albums is an exciting mix of inventive rock and pitch-perfect harmonies, here was reduced to little more than a throaty bar band. An off night maybe?
