One of the stronger new acts yet today were alt rock act The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Perhaps the best description of them is that they are a little less noisey form of My Bloody Valentine. While MBV drowns you in oceans of feedback and volume, TPOBPAH are a rocking and magnicifently (and simultaneously) more soothing affair. Thrashing with sincerity in some songs, sweetly singing a nice melody on others. If they can continue this momentum, they could be a new star in the making.
