The sure thing for “it” band of the festival may have fallen just a little short of that mark. Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (or as they’re commonly known Odd Future) started off rough as they were marred with technical difficulties on their DJ’s setup. A voice from off stage loudly proclaimed, “Sorry for the wait guys, the sound engineer for Coachella is fucking up.” After the difficulties were cleared up, the large group stormed the stage loudly egging the crowd to chant their signature slogan “Wolf Gang, Wolf Gang.” Somehow though, unlike SXSW they didn’t seem capable to keep the crowd enraptured. The latter half built up steam largely due to the stage presence of Tyler, the Creator. Near the end of the set Pharrell Williams made a surprise appearance to sing on a new song.
