Johnny Marr Goes Solo

After three years of touring and songwriting with The Cribs, lead guitarist/songwriter, Johnny Marr decided to go solo.

Originally the front man for The Smiths, Marr has done a lot with his time since the band broke up. In 2008, after working with Modest Mouse for a good part of 2007, Johnny Marr began touring with The Cribs. The relationship was very casual at first. Johnny merely joined them on stage at the Reading and Leeds Festival. After touring Marr continued to work closely with The Cribs and the band attributes a lot of the album ‘Ignore the Ignorant’ to Johnny.

The Cribs have yet to post anything on their official website but Johnny has made it clear that the break up was amicable. He recently Tweeted “Thank you everybody for all the best wishes to me and The Fellas. More good things to come from us all.” Marr also went as far as to say “We ended up doing much more than we originally set out to and I’ve made three good friends.” and “Ignore the Ignorant is something I am really proud of.”
