Zooey Deschanel Contributes to Winnie the Pooh Soundtrack

Among the contributors on the soundtrack for the latest Winnie the Pooh film is She & Him singer/actress Zooey Deschanel. The soundtrack will drop three days before the movie, on July 12.

Deschanel performs an original song, “So Long,” for the end credits of the movie. The song was co-written with her bandmate M. Ward.

She also sings the classic “Winnie the Pooh” theme song, and the tracks “Everything is Honey” and “Pooh’s Finale.”

Film director Don Hall said:

“She was the perfect choice to do the ‘Winnie the Pooh’ song – a classic theme from the Sherman Brothers. Her music actually embodies the underlying spirit of the movie. We’re taking something that has vintage roots in the sixties, but spinning it in our own way and updating it. If you listen to Zooey’s music with She & Him—that’s their sound to a tee.”

Michelle Rick: I like Pop Rocks, and believe your life is incomplete if you've never seen Forrest Gump. I recently saw the Counting Crows live, for free, and it was not good. I was supposed to interview David Hasselhoff once but he never showed. And I love the band that was once Oasis.
