The Strokes Reveal Drug Problems are Cause for Haitus

It’s been five years since The Strokes released their last record, but they have finally returned with their new album, Angles.

The band has recently revealed a major reason for their absence has been guitarist Albert Hammand Jr.’s problem with drugs.

The Strokes took a break in 2009 so Hammond could attend rehab, but started again a month later when he was through with treatment.

Hammond told Spin “You always do the crazy-rock-star thing, of course, but I’d rather be left with music from someone I admire than their funny stories of all the fucked-up shit they did.”

Angles is currently available to fans in store and online.
