Here’s a fun fact: The Dead Milkmen have been around for almost thirty years. That’s right, the original (and far better at it than say NOFX) punk jokesters The Dead Milkmen took the headlining slot at the MWTX Party. MWTX was the perfect place for them to perform. The crowd here is a bit less formal and music industry (completely free party to anyone who wanted to attend) and the entire event feels a bit more like a punk rock party than a sponsored festival. The Milkmen blasted out each song sprinkling in humorous stage banter from lead singer Rodney Linderman. Dozens of fans would crash the stage to prepare for a stage dive, occasionally Linderman would force them to stay so he could address them directly and make them a part of his anecdotes. They also did a dead-on cover of Gary Numan’s “Cars.”
