It doesn’t sound right on paper, but Kylesa has found a way to successfully combinr psych rock and metal. The band, two drummers strong, just hits the sweet spot taking stellar searing noise and then shifts into memorable bombastic crunch. Kylesa has worked metal tours and SXSW for years now. It’s a pleasure to see them making their own stamp on the scene. The Dirty Dog Bar was filled up completely for their set. Anytime a metal band can fill a room, it’s a good thing. Even Arson Anthem the other night boasting the star power of Phil Anselmo didn’t draw more than a few dozen people.
