Progressive rockers Between the Buried and Me have announced the release of The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, three-song 30-minute album out April 12 on Metal Blade Records. The band has also plotted a tour of North America in support of the record.
The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues is the band’s sixth LP and first since 2009’s The Great Misdirect. The record was recorded at Canada’s Metalworks Studios and Rattlebox Studios and produced and engineered by the Grammy award–winning David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, King Crimson, Dream Theater, etc.) with the band.
A press release describes the concept behind the album as follows:
The otherworldly conceptual thread linking each of the songs is mobilized around two human characters that live in different planes of existence and are separated by millions of light years, each confronted with similar personal issues. Subsequently, both characters make decisions that will change their lives, and perhaps the course of the universe, forever.
The tracklisting is as follows:
Specular Reflection
Augment of Rebirth
Lunar Wilderness
The band has made available a sample of the track “Specular Reflection”, which you can listen to below:
