The Decemberists Announce Summer Tour Dates and EP Release

As if an entirely sold-out first tour wasn’t enough, The Decemberists announce that they will be adding a summer tour which will include stops at several major festivals. The band also plans to release a live album EP mid-April.That’s right The Decemberists are hitting the road again. The announcement and first show of their tour came today as the band finishes up a tour around the UK. After they take care of business in England the band will hop the pond and set out to conquer the US this summer.
Several festival dates come packaged with this new leg of their tour. Festivals to be graced by the bands presence include the Sasquatch! Music Festival, Bonnaroo, the Merriweather Post Pavillion, Celebrate Brooklyn! at the Prospect Park Bandshell, Academy of the Arts in Philadelphia, and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado.

A limited selection of pre-sale tickets are available here for certain dates on the tour.

The Decemberists aren’t stopping there though, they have also announced the release of an EP from their live show at the Bull Moose. The album will be a limited edition in conjunction with Record Store Day productions, and will only be released to certain independent record stores across the nation.
To be released on April 16th, Live at Bull Moose features a performance recorded live at Bull Moose in Scarborough, Maine and includes several songs off The King is Dead but also a cover of the classic country ballad “If I Could Only Win Your Love” by the Louvin Brothers.
