Bright Eyes Unleashes The People’s Key

NPR Music in cooperation with the band, is currently streaming Bright Eyes‘ 7th studio album. The Album will be released on Feb. 15th but for the next two weeks it can be heard in its entirety right here. The People’s Key is Oberst’s 10 track effort to return to art-rock. It is an album that clearly shows the bands progression and Oberst’s developments as a singer song writer. No longer in his conventional-country/folk phase Oberst has returned to his poetic rock foundation and given fans what is perhaps his last studio album.

The album opens with a spoken word introduction by guitarist Denny Brewer, in which he shares his thoughts on the universe, the origins of life, even UFOs. The preliminary comments on the album hint that The People’s Key could be the most infectious album the band has produced to date.

Matt Liberg: Hello, I am a senior at Temple University, Major: English Minor: History. I have recieved the writing certificate from Temple, and I concentrate on Non-fiction, poetry, and journalism.
