Los Angeles dream punk/shoegaze band No age boast lyrics with punk rock ethics set to a landscape of white noise and feedback laden riffs creating noise that hits like a ton of bricks. Underneath all the explosive and beautiful racket, they’re also able to offer the song science of pop music with sweet melodies and easy harmony creating an amazing listening experience of melting edge and watercolor soft.
Everything In Between, the newest effort from the band still carries just enough like-a-bullet-to-the-heart punk fury and sharp feedback ,signature to No Age’s past studio efforts, but offers more ground covered in the softer sounds department. A plethora of song structure and more melodic variety throughout. It all still feels organic, not like a band who’s purposely trying to broaden their sound horizons, forcing it into a square hole, but more a natural progression of perfecting your craft. An idea that develops over time.
No age offers so much live. You get the reverb, punk rock, and dreamy soundscapes. What more can you ask for?
