KCRW, the public radio station of Santa Monica College, will begin its 2011 First Fridays series at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County on Friday, January 7.
This is the seventh year of the series when the museum holds events in which the doors are open until 10 pm and welcome to music lovers looking to see talented up and coming bands.
The first event of this season will host KCRW DJs Anthony Valadez and Garth Trininad along wit Swedish quartet Little Dragon and Sister Crayon.
The activities will kick off at 5pm on January 7 and will include tours, live musical performances, and a discussion of the “Science of Creativity” with writer Jonah Lehrer.
Admission is $9 for adults and $6.50 for children and includes access to all Museum galleries. Special passes are required in order to be admitted to the concert hall and can be purchased here.
