Supergroup “The Bottlepop Band” to Release Charity Album

The Bottlepop Band, a supergroup consisting of Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, Carl Barat of the Libertines, Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell, and Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys, has come together and will be recording a new charity album.

Other musicians involved with the project include Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly, VV Brown, Sam Sparro, Fink, Reverend and the Makers, Eliza Doolittle, and Tim Burgess.

“Fall of Rome,” the first single from the album, is now available for download. The album, entitled “Dream Service,” is due out on April 11, 2011. The profits from the album will go to education and employment projects in Brazil, Africa, and the UK.

Michelle Rick: I like Pop Rocks, and believe your life is incomplete if you've never seen Forrest Gump. I recently saw the Counting Crows live, for free, and it was not good. I was supposed to interview David Hasselhoff once but he never showed. And I love the band that was once Oasis.
