Atari Teenage Riot at Key Club [West Hollywood, 09.30.10]

Despite a decade break, Atari Teenage Riot’s Alec Empire and Nic Endo, along with new collaborator CX KidtroniK, infused the group’s set with plenty of their trademark energy at West Hollywood’s Key Club on September 30.  Watching the crowds erupt into wild moshing when they took the stage was reminiscent of the band’s infamous 1999 anti-NATO protest in their home city of Berlin, where the group was arrested for “inciting violence.”

The band’s brand of “digital hardcore” was on full display as group members took turns mixing behind the table and diving into the crowd.  They performed the new track “Activate!” – the first with KidtroniK – and promised a new album for 2011. ATR’s European tour continues through early December.
