Deftones and Alice In Chains at the Gibson Amphitheater, October, 12 2010

The BlackDiamondSkye tour rolled into Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheater at Universal Studios on Tuesday, October 12. Local favorites Deftones dug deep into their repertoire, playing old faves (“7 Words”) and new jams (“Rocket Skates”) alike. The energy levels they displayed would be a hard act to follow for any band, but the polished sounds of Alice In Chains, replete with a new(ish) vocalist, completed a night of heavy riffs and plenty to cheer about. One girl’s continuous snake dancing throughout the Alice In Chains set, like a 90’s Guns’n’Roses groupie, was even rewarded with a personal homage from the band during the set, exhibiting confused glances all round the arena.
