Their new album, Industrial Complex, brings us back to the late 80s, with the familiar electro-industrial signature style of UK’s Nitzer Ebb. Get the latest on their album along with an MP3 download and upcoming tour dates after the jump.
After 15 years, they’re back (and better than ever? you decide!). Nitzer Ebb first became a staple in UK’s hard-style industrial music scene in the 80s when they signed to UK’s biggest electronic music label, Mute Records. Their success launched with the release of their single “Murderous” in 1986, followed by “Let Your Body Burn” in 1987. Just after two songs with the new record label, the band came to realize that them and the record label were a match made in heaven. Soon enough, Nitzer Ebb became the soundtrack of nightlife all over — from clubs in NYC to UK acid houses.
Their debut album, That Total Age, came in 1987, and was the perfect compilation of music to really define the band’s style. They continued to capture their hard-style industrial-electro-pop music in their next four albums, Showtime (1990), As Is (1991), Ebbhead (1991), and Big Hit (1995). As Nitzer Ebb continued making music, their sounds matured and strengthened, and they began to make more use of ‘real’ instruments and had more orchestrated, lyrical music.
It seems that time doesn’t seem to affect Nitzer Ebb’s success. After breaking up and reforming in 2006, they came back strong with two new releases of remixed songs, Body of Work and Body Rework. Earlier this year, they also performed with Depeche Mode in a European tour, as well as performing at various music festivals. To even further prove their success, their newer music has been featured in the TV series NCIS, the video game Grand Theft Auto IV, and the movies Saw VI, IV, and 3D.
Nitzer Ebb is making their tumultuous comeback to the electronic music world after fifteen years of laying low and out of the studios. Their highly anticipated album, Industrial Complex will treat your ears to the latest of Nitzer Ebb; it’s a brand new set of sounds, yet still an electrifying reminder of their earliest beats.
